Half Birthday Party Ideas and Themes

Here are some tips and birthday party themes I've found for celebrating Half Birthday Parties. These ideas can also be applied to belated birthday parties:

2. Start the party at half past the hour.
   
   
3. The party theme is easy. Everything is done in halves.
   
   
4. Blow balloons up only half way.
   
   
5. Cut banners in half and hang only the top half.
   
   
6. Serve a half birthday cake. Simply cut a decorated cake in half leaving half of the writing. The other half can be used if the first half isn't enough for your party or frozen for treats at a later time.
   
   
7. Push one of the candles further into the cake so it looks like a half candle.
   
   
8. Serve half foods such as half sandwiches, deviled eggs, half pieces of fruits and veggies, cups filled half way.
   
   
9. Break or cut other popular party foods in half: brownies, cupcakes, donuts, etc.
   
   
10. Sing half of the birthday song. Either sing every other word or stop in the middle of the song. Some people sing "Hafty" Birthday instead of "Happy" Birthday.
    
    
11. Hold a half treasure hunt. Hide one half of plastic Easter eggs with half-sized candy bars taped inside.
